    North Sydney is one of those annoying places that is full of coffee shops which all churn out pretty average coffee. It seems like every second business is a coffee shop that is doing a pretty good trade given the high amounts of offices in the area. The problem is the coffee is largely pretty awful.
    I was starting to get disillusioned and was considering swapping my morning coffee for a ... juice... That is until I found Home Espresso.
    A huge thanks to Yelp and to James' review of this cafe, I tried it and he's right. Home Espresso is THE best coffee in North Sydney - hands down. What a treat. This place leaves the watery, over milked, weak tasting coffee cafes around it for dead. he service is great, the food too is good - but for me it's all about the coffee.
    I've always had a theory that you can judge the quality of the coffee by the take away cup. The worse the design, the worse the coffee. If you get a funky design and or recycled paper cup you can rest assured you will have a semi-decent cup of coffee.
    Home Espresso keeps my theory in tact.

    Asking my twitter followers for cafe suggestions in North Sydney, there is only one cafe that comes up repeatedly. This is it. You can spot Home as you are heading down the hill as it sticks out with the generous supply of outdoor tables, and then the ramp that seems to draw you into their shop.

    Having been here for a couple of meetings with friends, while neither time I was overwhelmed with velvet crema or amazing coffee in general, this was in comparison to CBD cafes. Comparing to cafes in North Sydney, it has THE best coffee I have found yet.

    I also really loved the personalised service for their regular customers. When the local caffeine dealer goes that extra step, I feel free to award them with brownie points... :-)
